Chesterfield Sofas

The Chesterfield is the classic English form, known for deep button tufting, rolled arms and, on some models, hand-set nailhead trim. Every Sitdesign Chesterfield sofa and armchair is made to order — to your dimensions and in the leather or fabric you choose — in our own factory in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul.

Which model for which room?

  • Large living rooms: Chicago (285 cm, the largest Chesterfield we make) and Manchester (300 cm, tufted on the back and the arms).
  • Narrow rooms or limited depth: Oxford (280 cm wide, only 88 cm deep and 66 cm high) and Evesham (252 cm).
  • A lighter look: the open arms of Cambridge and Emily, or the slender turned legs of Nottingham.
  • Easy to move: Jakarta stands on casters and can be moved by one person.
  • A different leather: Edward, a Chesterfield with lowered arms, is also made in metallic bronze leather.

Chesterfield armchairs

To complete the set: Mars (a compact 68 cm Chesterfield chair on brass castors), Matrix (a club chair with a 108 cm back and nailhead trim), Nerissa, Neptune, Ashley and the wingback Masterchair.

Leather or fabric?

The Chesterfield is best known in leather. We use genuine leather only — aniline, semi-aniline, nubuck, full-grain and top-grain, with Italian leather as our top group. Most models can also be made in fabric. All our leather sofas

How it is made

A kiln-dried beech frame, HR foam and sprung seating; the button tufting is done by hand. Production usually takes 3–4 weeks; the exact time is confirmed with your quote. Up to 2 years manufacturer's warranty on our leathers.
