EVESHAM SOFA

Evesham is the Chesterfield at everyday scale. 252 cm wide, 94 cm deep, 70 cm high — a deep tufted back and rolled arms in proportions that fit a normal living room rather than a club. Shown in camel leather.

The size that actually fits

Most Chesterfields are drawn large, which is why they end up looking wrong in ordinary rooms. Evesham is the one we specify when the room is 4 by 5 metres and the sofa still has to be the main piece. It sits lower and shallower than Chicago or Manchester, so it reads as a sofa rather than a monument, and it leaves walking room in front.

Camel on a buttoned form

A warm mid tone is the easiest colour on a tufted surface: it shows the pleats without showing every mark, and it works in both a traditional and a modern room. It is the shade we would suggest first for a family living room, where black reads heavy and cream is unforgiving.

Construction

Solid beech frame, hand-assembled. Buttons pulled and tied by hand; high-density filling under the tufting to hold the diamonds square. Upholstery, stitching and cushion configuration specified at the time of order, from seventy-six leather shades across twelve families or from our fabric range. COM projects accepted.

Three widths, listed above, all 94 cm deep and 70 cm high. All adjustable; button spacing re-set with the width.
