In context
Edward is a Chesterfield with the arms dropped. The back is deeply buttoned in the traditional way, but the rolled arms sit low — well below the back line — which opens the whole silhouette and makes the seat look wider than its 280 cm. Shown in taupe, dark brown, black and a metallic bronze leather.
Low arms change the sofa
On a standard Chesterfield the arm and back meet at the same height and the sofa reads as a box. Dropping the arm turns the buttoned back into the only tall element, so it becomes the feature and the sofa stops looking defensive. It also makes it more comfortable to sit sideways or lie along, which a full-height Chesterfield does not allow.
The bronze option
One of the versions above is a metallic bronze leather — a finish with a metal pigment in the top coat that shifts with the light. It is the least conventional hide we offer on a classical form, and it is the reason this model turns up in hospitality projects more often than in homes. The taupe and black versions are the quiet alternatives.
Construction
Kiln-dried beech frame, hand-assembled. Buttons pulled and tied by hand; high-resilience foam under the tufting to hold the diamonds square. Upholstered to order from seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, or in fabric; stitching and cushion detail specified at the time of order.
Sizes
Edward is made in two widths only — 280 and 215 cm, both listed above. There is no standard single seat in this model; a matching chair can be built to order, or pair it with an armchair from the same leather batch. Widths and depth are adjustable per project.
Where it belongs
A hotel lobby, a bar, a large living room, an executive office. The low arms let it sit under a window or against a half-wall where a full Chesterfield would be too tall.
