A success story that began in 1983:
Sit Design was founded by Öznur Uysal, who began her entrepreneurial journey in the Netherlands at the age of 18. What began with a single sewing machine has grown into one of the country’s 25 largest furniture manufacturers.

One of Türkiye’s first female furniture exporters: In 1993, she moved production to Türkiye and founded Sit Design in Istanbul, becoming the first woman to export leather sofas from Türkiye.

Over 30 years of production and export experience: Today, Sit Design operates from a 3,000 m² production facility in Istanbul and focuses primarily on leather seating and custom furniture solutions for large-scale projects.

A globally recognized Turkish brand: Exporting to 12 countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Qatar, Dubai, Russia, Tunisia, and India, Sit Design reaches an annual export volume of $2.5 million.

Custom, project-based production: For the past 15 years, Sit Design has focused on custom-made furniture for hotels, airports, and residential projects, primarily for wholesale.

A respected woman in a male-dominated industry: Known as the “big sister of the furniture industry,” Öznur Uysal has achieved this position through her determination, resilience, and equality-based leadership.

Who is Öznur Uysal? – A Brief Introduction

Öznur Uysal is one of Türkiye’s first female furniture exporters and a pioneering entrepreneur in the sector. She began her journey in the Netherlands at the age of 18with a single sewing machine. Within a few years, she had become one of thecountry’s top 25 furniture manufacturers.
