Sitdesign began with a single sewing machine in the Netherlands. This is what that became.
Our founder is eighteen when she starts making upholstered furniture in the Netherlands, with a single sewing machine. Within ten years the business is counted among the country's twenty-five largest furniture makers.
Production moves to Istanbul and Sitdesign is founded. Our founder becomes the first woman to export leather sofas from Türkiye.
The same workshop now makes bespoke furniture for villas, offices and hotels, and the loose furniture for superyachts of 50 and 80 metres. Every piece is still cut, sewn and upholstered by hand under one roof.
