Lavor is the largest sideboard we make: 275 cm long and 90 cm high, with three-dimensional geometric door fronts in natural walnut, on brass or golden bronze legs.

275 × 90 cm, and what that needs

These are the numbers to settle first. 275 cm needs an uninterrupted wall — measure to the architrave and the skirting return, not the nominal wall length, and check the route in: a 275 cm carcass has to turn a corridor corner and clear a doorway. At 90 cm the top is above standing-work height, which makes it a serving surface and a strong presence in the room; it is too tall to sit comfortably under a low-hung picture. For a lower line, Diamante at 75 cm or Mellow at 78 cm.

Doors with real depth

The geometric fronts are shaped rather than printed or applied, so each door has actual relief — which is why they catch light and throw shadow instead of looking like a pattern. Shaping solid stock means the grain has to be read as the faces turn, and the pattern has to stay symmetrical across four doors and 275 cm. Over that length, an error of a millimetre per door is visible as a drift by the time you reach the far end.

Walnut, brass or golden bronze

Natural walnut veneer over a solid wood body: dark, warm and strongly figured, which is what lets a piece this large feel rich rather than heavy. Brass legs are brighter and more classical; golden bronze is deeper and quieter. Unless lacquered, both darken slowly over the years — the appeal for some, the reason to ask for a protected finish for others, and we will explain both before the order.

Materials and sizes

275 × 50 × 90 cm; made to order, so length, height and the internal division are set during the order, and the door pattern is set out again with any change of width. Veneer, finish and leg finish specified per project. Handcrafted in our Istanbul workshop.

Where it belongs

A large dining room, a classical or transitional residence, a luxury restaurant, a boutique hotel, a prestigious office. In a small room it will dominate — that is not a flaw, it is the reason to measure first.
