ECHO BARSTOOL

Echo is the quiet barstool: a slim silhouette, soft curves, a supportive back and a wide seat cushion, with nothing applied to the front. It is the one to specify when the kitchen or the bar is already the strong element in the room.

Nothing to look at, which is the harder version

A strap, a stitch pattern or a panel line hides small faults; a plain curved stool hides none. The cover has to be pulled evenly round every turn with no draw lines, the seams have to run true, and the curves on each side have to mirror each other — and because a stool stands clear in the room, you see it from all sides rather than with its back to a wall. That is the whole proposition: it is the stool that shows the making, not a feature. If you want the detail, Anna carries the strap on the back.

Seat height, and the number to send us

Leave 25 to 30 cm between the top of the seat and the underside of the worktop: a 90 cm kitchen island wants a seat at about 65 cm, a 105 to 110 cm bar counter about 75 cm. Echo is made to order, so the seat is set to your counter — send the counter height and the depth of any overhang, because a wide seat has to pass under it.

A back, and what that decides

The back supports your lower back, so this is a stool you can sit at through a meal. It also means the stool cannot disappear under the counter — it stands in the room and takes floor when nobody is on it. Where the stools must tuck fully away, Rope with its low back is the honest answer.

Materials and sizes

Made to order; seat height set to your counter. Fabric or leather — any of seventy-six leather shades across twelve families — and your own fabric (COM) is accepted, so the stools can be matched to the Echo dining chair or to a sofa in the same room. Genuine leather only. Handcrafted in our Istanbul workshop.
