TRIPOLI BED

Tripoli has the tallest headboard we make: 135 cm, upholstered, across an overall width of 400 cm. That height is the whole proposition — it is a bed that builds the wall behind it.

135 cm, and what it changes

Headboard height decides how a bed is used and how the room reads. At 135 cm Tripoli supports you properly sitting up — your head, not just your shoulders — which is what you notice if you read or work in bed. It also means the upholstered panel becomes the wall finish behind the bed, so whatever is on that wall has to be reconsidered: a picture above it will be too high, and a window sill or a dado rail at 100 cm will be crossed. Measure the wall height and what is on it before ordering. For a lower band, Trieste or Bambi at 120 cm.

Scale, honestly

400 × 212 cm overall. A bed this size does not simply go in a large room — it decides the room. In practice it wants at least 70 to 80 cm of clear floor along each side to walk and to make the bed, and a door that opens away from it. If the room cannot give that, a narrower bed is the right answer rather than this one squeezed in; we would rather say so before the order than after the delivery.

Upholstery

A headboard is the one upholstered surface a person leans their head on every night, so the fabric has to be chosen for that and not only for colour: a tight weave or a leather wipes clean, an open loose weave does not. Your own fabric (COM) is accepted, and the panel can be matched to a bench or armchair in the same room.

Where it belongs

A large principal bedroom, a luxury residence, a hotel suite with the ceiling height to carry it. In a room with a low ceiling a 135 cm headboard feels jammed under it.
