RANGER BED

Ranger is the bed with straps. Vertical strap-like elements run down the upholstered headboard, dividing it into bays — the one detail that separates it from every other bed we make, and the reason to choose it.

The straps, and why they are the hard part

A plain upholstered headboard can absorb a small error; a run of vertical straps cannot. Each one has to be the same width, set at the same spacing, and run dead straight from the top edge to the bottom across the whole headboard — and they are applied over a padded surface, which moves under the hand as you work. Where they meet the top edge is where the eye goes, so that line is set out before anything is cut.

A 134 cm headboard

Headboard height is the dimension that changes how a bed is used. At 134 cm Ranger is tall: it supports you sitting up in bed to read, it fills the wall behind rather than floating on it, and it will cross a window sill or a dado rail if there is one — so measure the wall height and anything on it before ordering. Of our beds only Tripoli is taller.

Upholstery, and the part nobody mentions

A headboard is the one upholstered surface people lean their head against every night, so hair and skin oils reach it in a way they never reach a sofa back. That makes the fabric choice a practical decision as much as a visual one: a tight weave or a leather wipes clean, an open loose weave does not. We will say so when you choose. Your own fabric (COM) is accepted.

Materials and sizes

Solid wood frame; upholstered headboard. Overall size as listed: 383 × 231 × 134 cm — check the overall width against the wall first, since it is the figure that decides whether the bed fits at all. Mattress size, fabric and finish are confirmed with the order. Handcrafted in our Istanbul workshop.

Where it belongs

A principal bedroom with a full wall to give it, a luxury suite, a boutique hotel. It is a bed that sets the room, so it wants to be the only strong thing in it.
