Liverpool is the contemporary piece in a range built mostly on classics. Clean back, plain arms, no tufting anywhere — but the depth of a traditional sofa: 105 cm front to back, the same as our Chesterfields. Shown in dark brown leather.
Depth without the detailing
That combination is the reason to choose it. A buttoned sofa gets its support from the structure of the tufting; a plain one has to get it from the cushion, so at 105 cm deep the filling does all the work. High-resilience foam over a sprung seat platform holds the front edge square — this is where a cheaper build shows itself within a season, as a seat that rounds off at the front and sags in the middle.
Plain surfaces show the hide
With no buttons and no channelling, the leather and the seam lines are the whole design. Leather is always genuine; no faux leather goes into any Sitdesign piece. Seventy-six shades across twelve leather families, or fabric, with the stitch specified at the time of order — it is visible from across a room on a form this plain.
Construction
Kiln-dried beech frame, hand-assembled and dried before upholstery so it stays still in a heated room. Made to order in our own facility in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul. COM projects accepted.
Sizes
Three standard widths, listed above. The single seat is 125 cm wide and slightly shallower at 100 cm, so it reads as a wide armchair rather than a cut-down sofa. All sizes adjustable per project.
Where it belongs
A loft, an open-plan apartment, a contemporary office lounge. It holds a long wall on its own and takes a dark leather better than most plain sofas, because the depth gives the colour somewhere to sit.
