FIONA BENCH

Fiona is the hard-surfaced bench: a marble top on slender metal legs, with leather as the only soft element. 220 × 80 × 45 cm.

Stone, metal, leather — and what each is doing

The marble is the surface, so it is the thing you see and the thing that takes the wear: unique veining from the slab, a top that will not scratch, and — because stone is porous — a surface that marks if it is not sealed. The metal legs are slim because they have to be: a 220 cm stone slab is heavy, and the frame is drawn to carry that span with thin sections and still stand without a tremble. The leather is the soft part; whether it is a seat pad or an edge detail is specified with the order.

80 cm deep: not a perch

Most benches are 40 to 45 cm deep. At 80 cm, Fiona is twice that — you sit back on it rather than perch, and it works as a surface as much as a seat: at the foot of a bed, along a hall wall, in a lobby where people set bags down. It also means it needs real floor. In a corridor under 1.6 m it will not work, whatever its length.

Chair height. That is what lets a bench of this size go to a dining table as seating as well as stand on its own, and it is the height that sits comfortably against a bed at the foot.

220 × 80 × 45 cm, customisable on request. Stone selection, metal finish and leather are specified per project. Genuine leather only. Handcrafted in our Istanbul workshop.
