EGO CORNER SECTIONAL SOFA

Ego is the largest of our sectionals and the one built around colour blocking: panels in contrasting tones rather than a single upholstery. Deep cushions, wide seats, and the seating capacity to take a whole room's worth of people.

Colour blocking, and what it commits you to

Blocking colour on a sofa is not a pattern applied to a cover — the panels are cut and upholstered separately and the seams between them become the drawing, which is why they have to run true and meet exactly at every corner. It is the most striking thing we can do with upholstery and the most committing: a blocked sofa cannot have one colour changed later without re-covering the whole piece, and it will date faster than a single-colour sofa of the same shape. We will say both of those before the order. Specified in one tone the same sofa is quiet and will outlive several schemes.

Scale, honestly

A sofa this size sets the room rather than sitting in it. Before ordering, tape the footprint on the floor, leave 80 to 90 cm of walkway in front, and check the delivery route: the longest module has to turn your corridor corner and clear your doorway, and a module that will not go up a stairwell is a problem no discount fixes. If the room cannot carry it, two smaller pieces give more usable seating than one oversized L.

Deep seats and wide cushions

Deep seating is for lounging — comfortable to sink into, harder to sit upright in, and harder to stand up from. In a household where that matters, Melanie has a raised seat instead. Wide cushions mean fewer seams across a long run and a calmer line; they are also heavier to turn, and turning them is what keeps them even.

Modular, and handed

Specified module by module, so modules can be added or left out and the overall size follows the layout. The corner is handed and cannot be swapped once made: stand where you enter the room, face the sofa, and tell us whether the long side runs away to your left or your right. Send a plan with the door, the window and the television marked.

Materials and sizes

Made to order; overall dimensions confirmed with your quotation. Fabric or leather — any of seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, and a blocked scheme can combine several — and your own fabric (COM) is accepted. Genuine leather only. Handcrafted in our Istanbul workshop.
