Wide arms, and why

The armrests are broad and flat-topped, which is a comfort decision before a visual one: they support the forearm properly, take a glass or a book, and are comfortable to lean the head against when you turn sideways. They also give the chair its stance — at 86 cm wide it looks planted rather than slight.

Built for daily use

Solid kiln-dried wood frame, with the deep cushioning specified to recover its shape rather than flatten into a hollow where people sit most. This is the chair we put forward when it is going into an office, a lobby or a family room — somewhere it will be used by different people all day, and where the seat has to look the same in year five as in year one.

Leather that earns its character

Genuine leather only; no faux leather is used in any Sitdesign product. On a plain chair used this hard the patina is the point: the seat and arm fronts gain a sheen, the colour deepens unevenly, and the stitch lines sharpen as the surface relaxes. Any of seventy-six shades across twelve leather families, or fabric; leg finish and stitching specified with the order.

Proportions

86 × 90 × 88 cm — deep and tall, a full lounge chair rather than an accent one. Adjustable per project.

Where it belongs

An executive office, a hotel lobby, a family living room, a reception floor. It takes a dark leather well and it holds a corner on its own.
