Victor is a solid wood console on metal legs, with bold curves in the body. The timber is walnut, oak or anigre — chosen with the order — and the legs are made in satin brass or in a second metal finish. 150 × 53 cm, 87 cm high.
Three timbers, and they are different pieces
Walnut is dark and strongly figured, and it makes the curves read as sculpture. Oak is pale and open-grained, and the same console becomes calm and Scandinavian. Anigre sits between them — fine, light, almost golden. Choose the timber for the room rather than the shape, because the shape does not change.
Satin brass, and what it does over time
Satin brass is warm and matt rather than bright, which is what lets it sit against timber without competing. Unless lacquered it darkens and softens over the years. That is either the appeal or the reason to specify a protected finish, and we will explain both before the order; the alternative metal finish is also available.
87 cm: standing height
Console height decides where a piece goes. At 87 cm, Victor is a hall and corridor console: the top is at the height you use standing up, with room for a mirror or a picture above. It is too tall to stand behind a sofa — Akropolis at 68 cm or Olympos at 73 cm is the piece for that.
Materials and sizes
Dimensions listed above; made to order, with width and height adjustable. Timber, finish and leg finish are specified per project. Handcrafted in our Istanbul workshop.
Where it belongs
An entrance hall, a luxury residence, a boutique hotel, a corridor. The curved body wants to be seen from the side as well as the front, so leave a little space at each end.
