Siena stands on X-shaped supports joined by a central stretcher. The top is a slim rectangle with fine edging, 240 × 110 cm, and the base is pure structure — two crossed frames and one bar between them, nothing else.

The X and the stretcher

A crossed support is braced in itself, which is why it can be made in slender sections and still carry a wide top without flexing. The stretcher ties the two X-frames together along the length and stops the whole thing racking sideways — the failure mode of every slim-framed table. It is honest engineering, visible, and it is the design.

What the stretcher means for the chairs

Worth knowing before choosing: the central bar runs below the table, so people sitting at the sides will find it with their feet. Many like that — it works as a footrest — but if a completely clear floor underneath is wanted, Serenity or Papillon on twin pedestals is the better answer. We will say so rather than let it be discovered after delivery.

How many it seats

240 × 110 cm takes eight comfortably — three a side, one at each end. The X-frames sit inboard, so the end places are usable rather than blocked by a corner leg.

Materials and sizes

Dimensions listed above; made to order, with length, width and height all adjustable. The angle of the X is redrawn with any change of length rather than stretched, so the geometry stays correct. Material and finish specified per project.

Where it belongs

A contemporary dining room, a restaurant, a hotel. The base is the reason to buy it, so the table is best seen from the side with the chairs pulled out — not pushed against a wall.
