Serenity is a 240 cm dining table on two softly contoured column bases. The top is broad and dark with rounded edges, and the bases are shaped rather than squared — the only curves on an otherwise calm, flat composition.
Two columns, not four legs
This is the practical difference and it decides where the chairs go. A four-legged table has a leg at each corner, so the end seats and the chairs nearest the corners fight for space. On two central columns the whole perimeter is clear: chairs slide in anywhere along the length, an extra chair can be added at each end, and nobody sits straddling a leg.
How many it seats
At 240 × 110 cm, Serenity seats eight comfortably — three along each side and one at each end — and ten when people are willing to sit closer. Allow 60 to 65 cm of table edge per person and about 90 cm of clear floor behind each chair for pulling it out.
The contoured bases
Each column is shaped in section rather than cut straight, so the base reads as sculpted and catches light down its curve. On a dark finish that shaping is the only thing that stops a large table looking like a slab on two blocks — and it has to be identical on both columns, which is where the work is.
Materials and sizes
Dimensions listed above; made to order, so the length, width and height can all be set to the room. Material and finish are specified per project. Tell us how many people should sit around it and the size of the room, and we will confirm the proportion before quoting.
Where it belongs
A contemporary dining room, an open-plan living space, a hotel or restaurant. The dark top suits a room with good light; in a dim dining room a paler finish reads better.
