Semerkand is built around a contrast: two materials on one body, meeting along a clean line rather than blending into each other. The proportions are deliberately restrained — 92 cm deep and 71 cm high — so the sofa stays low in the room and lets the two surfaces do the work.
Two textures
The pairing is chosen at the time of order: leather against fabric, matt against sheen, or two tones of the same family. Because the division is structural rather than decorative, the choice changes the character of the piece completely — the same frame can read as sober or as graphic depending on what meets what.
Leather and fabric
Seventy-six shades across twelve leather families, plus our fabric range. Stitching and piping are specified with the upholstery; on a two-material body the seam between them is the detail people notice first, so it is worth deciding deliberately.
Sizes
Three standard widths, listed above. Any of them can be made narrower or wider and the seat depth changed; the proportions of the back and arm are re-set with it so the low line is kept.
Where it belongs
The low height suits rooms with a view or a long horizontal window, where a tall back would cut the line. It also works in open-plan spaces as a divider: at 71 cm it separates areas without closing them off.
