SATURN ARMCHAIR

Saturn is the contemporary wingback: a 108 cm back — the tallest in our range, with Matrix — but slim arms instead of heavy ones, no tufting, and nailhead trim along the edges. It comes with its own matching accent cushions. 88 cm wide, 92 cm deep. Shown in cognac and brown.

A wingback without the weight

The height does what a wingback is for: it closes around the head and shoulders, cuts the noise and the sightlines, and makes a corner of a room genuinely private. What it does not do is look like a period piece — the arms are kept slim and the back is plain, so the chair reads tall and light rather than tall and heavy. That is the whole difference between this and a traditional wingback.

Saturn or Jupiter

Both are wingbacks and both carry nailheads. Jupiter is the traditional one, with a tufted seat cushion and fuller sides. Saturn is the modern reading: plain surfaces, slim arms, supplied cushions. Same function, two different rooms.

The cushions are part of it

Matching accent cushions are made with the chair, not left to the room. On a tall plain chair they are what lets you sit forward and upright when you want to, and they are cut from the same material so the chair still reads as one piece.

Leather or fabric

Kiln-dried beech frame with high-density foam cushioning. Made to order in any of seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, or in fabric, including a fabric you supply yourself. Genuine leather only. Stitching and cushion firmness specified at the time of order.

Where it belongs

A reading corner, a hotel room, a quiet end of an open-plan floor, a study. It needs wall height behind it: under a low window a 108 cm back looks cramped.
