RANCHERO SECTIONAL SOFA

Ranchero is an L-shaped sectional with a chaise: deep seats, generously padded cushions and a long section to stretch out on. The decision that matters most is which side that chaise is on.

Left-hand or right-hand — settle this first

A chaise is on one side or the other, and once it is made it cannot be swapped. The way to get it right is to stand where you will enter the room and face the sofa: the chaise is on your left or on your right as you look at it. Tell us that, and send a plan of the room with the door, the window and the television marked. This is the single most common mistake in ordering a sectional, and it is the one we cannot fix afterwards.

What the chaise costs in floor

A chaise is usually 150 to 170 cm deep against 95 to 105 cm for the rest of the sofa — so it projects well into the room and takes the space a walkway or a coffee table would have used. In a room under about 4 m across the short direction, the chaise arm often ends up blocking the route in. Worth drawing on the floor with tape before ordering.

Deep seats, and who they suit

Deep seating is comfortable to sink into and harder to sit upright in — excellent for an evening in front of a film, less good for a conversation over coffee or for anyone who finds a low soft seat difficult to get out of. If the sofa needs to work both ways, say so and we will set the seat depth and the cushion firmness accordingly; a firmer back cushion is often all it takes.

Materials and sizes

Made to order. The overall size depends on the configuration, so it is confirmed with your quotation along with the module layout. Fabric or leather — any of seventy-six leather shades across twelve families — and your own fabric (COM) is accepted. Genuine leather only; no faux leather is used in any Sitdesign product. Handcrafted in our Istanbul factory.

Where it belongs

A spacious living room, an open-plan apartment, a hotel suite, an executive lounge, a premium waiting area. It needs the room to spread into — in a tight space a straight sofa and a separate armchair give more usable seating than an L.
