OSCAR ARMCHAIR

Oscar is nearly square — 84 cm wide, 86 cm deep — with every corner rounded and leather and fabric used together on the same frame. Where Iris makes that contrast the point, Oscar plays it down: the materials are chosen to disappear into one soft volume rather than to argue with each other. Square footprint, round form

84 by 86 cm means the chair occupies the same space whichever way it is turned, which makes it easy to place — at an angle in a corner, square to a sofa, or floating in a room. The rounded shaping is what keeps that footprint from reading as a box, and it is hand-cut and eased over the frame rather than simply covered.

Leather and fabric together

The split is specified with the order. The sensible version puts leather where arms and hands rest, because it wipes clean and takes the wear, and fabric where you sit and lean, because it breathes. A single-material version in either is also possible, and on this form it is a quieter chair.

Materials

High-density foam over a kiln-dried beech frame, hand-assembled. Any of seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, our fabric range, or a fabric you supply yourself. Genuine leather only; no faux leather is used in any Sitdesign product. Stitching and cushion firmness specified at the time of order.

Proportions

84 × 86 × 78 cm — a generous everyday chair rather than a compact accent one. Adjustable per project.

A living room used every day, an executive lounge, a hotel suite. It is the armchair to choose when the chair has to be comfortable first and interesting second.
