MEX COFFEE TABLE

Two versions on one frame: wood with stitched leather, or marble on wood — both on slim metal legs.

Mex is made in two material combinations on the same frame: wood with stitched leather, or marble with wood. Both stand on slim metal legs, and the two versions behave like different tables in a room.

Wood and leather

The version almost nobody else makes. Leather panels are cut, stitched and tailored into the table the way they would be on a sofa — which means a coffee table can be ordered in the same hide as the seating in front of it, from the same batch. It also means the table warms and marks with use rather than staying inert, and that it can be ordered in any of seventy-six shades across twelve leather families. Genuine leather only.

Marble and wood

The other version: a stone top on a solid wood base. Cooler, heavier, more formal, and unique each time — marble is quarried, so the veining on your table will not be the veining in a photograph. The wood base carries the weight and keeps the stone from reading as a slab on legs.

Colours, and a word of caution

Mex is offered in a wide colour range, from ebony black and ivory white to deeper tones. On a coffee table a strong colour is harder to live with than it looks on a screen, because the table sits in the middle of the floor where everything is seen against it. We will say so, and send samples, before confirming a bold shade.

Materials and sizes

Made to order. Material combination, leather or stone, colour, metal finish and dimensions are all specified per project. Tell us the length of the sofa it sits in front of and we will confirm the proportion before quoting.

Where it belongs

A contemporary living room, a lounge, an office. The leather version belongs in front of a leather sofa; the marble version belongs in a room that wants one cool, hard surface in it.
