Lola is long. The top is drawn as an elongated rectangle on strong structural legs, with gold detailing along the frame — proportions closer to a bench than to a conventional coffee table, and a shape that only works in front of a long sofa.
Length is the point
A standard coffee table in front of a three-metre sofa leaves the outer seats with nothing to reach. Lola's elongated top follows the sofa, so every seat has surface in front of it. That makes it the right table for a long room and the wrong one for a square one — in a small space the length dominates, and a round or square table is the better answer.
Symmetry, and why it is unforgiving
The design is strictly symmetrical: the legs sit at matched positions and the gold lines run the full length on both sides. Over a long top, symmetry is the hardest thing to hold — the eye reads the whole length at once, so a leg a few millimetres out of position or a line that drifts is visible immediately. There is no ornament to distract from it.
The gold detailing
Metal lines against the body, which is what keeps a long dark plane from reading as a slab. Gold also ages: unless lacquered, it darkens and softens over the years, which is either the appeal or the reason to specify a protected finish. We will explain both before the order.
Materials and sizes
Made to order, and length is the dimension that matters most here. Tell us the sofa it sits in front of and we will draw the table to it, re-setting the leg positions and the line work so the symmetry holds at the new size.
Where it belongs
A long living room, a lounge, an executive office, a hotel reception. It wants a long sofa opposite it and floor at both ends.
