Leo is a side table built on solid marble. A square top sits on an angular leg that stands in a marble cube. The weight is in the stone at the bottom; the top is a thin plane above it.
Marble as the base, not the top
On almost every table the stone is the surface and something cheaper holds it up; here the marble is the weight at the bottom and the top is a thin plane above it. It works because a block of stone needs no bracing — it simply is heavy enough — so the stem can be as slim as the metal allows.
Made for corners
Square against round, angular against cylindrical: Leo is the counterpart of Lucy. Alone, it suits a corner where a square top sits flush against two walls. Small enough to go where a conventional side table does not.
Materials and sizes
Made to order. Stone, metal finish and dimensions are specified per project — ask us which marbles are currently available rather than choosing from a screen, because stone photographs flatter and darker than it looks in a room.
Where it belongs
Beside a chair, at the end of a sofa, in a hotel room, in a lounge. In a plain room it is the piece that carries the material interest; in a busy one it competes.
