Katherina is drawn around wide armrests. They are broad and flat-topped, built as part of the frame rather than padded onto it, and they take up a noticeable share of the 245 cm width — which is why the sofa looks substantial without being long. Shown in brown and in dark grey.
Wide arms, narrower seat
Worth understanding before ordering: broad arms mean less seat for the same footprint. On the 245 cm three-seater that is a fair trade, because the arms give you somewhere to rest, lean and set a glass down, and they are comfortable to lie against. If maximum seating per centimetre is what the room needs, Janette or Ego is the better choice at the same sort of width.
Deep cushions on a firm base
Deep cushions over high-density foam, in a form with no tufting, no piping and no curve anywhere — the whole piece depends on the proportion holding. A soft filling would round the arm tops within a year and the geometry would go with it, which is why this model is specified firm.
Leather or fabric
Beech frame, hand-assembled. Upholstered to order in any of seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, or in fabric; stitching and cushion style specified at the time of order. Genuine leather only; no faux leather is used in any Sitdesign product.
Sizes
Three widths, listed above, all 100 cm deep and 80 cm high. The single seat at 108 cm is generous for a chair. All adjustable per project.
Where it belongs
A modern apartment, a stylish office, a boutique hotel room. It takes a mid or dark tone well; on a pale fabric the broad arms show marks first.
