Janette is 280 cm of plain sofa. Soft-edged arms, a straight back, a 98 cm depth and nothing applied anywhere — the kind of piece that is judged entirely on its tailoring, because there is no detail to look at instead. Shown in grey leather.

Tailoring is the whole design

On a form this quiet the seams are the drawing. Panels are cut to land the stitch lines where the eye expects them, the corners are mitred rather than gathered, and the arm edge is kept soft without letting the leather slacken over it. Done loosely, a sofa like this looks cheap at three metres; done precisely, it looks expensive at ten.

An 85 cm single seat

The matching chair is 85 cm wide. That is a genuinely useful size: it fits beside a door, in a bay, or in the gap a 100 cm chair cannot take, while keeping the same 98 cm depth as the sofa so a group still lines up.

Leather or fabric

Made to order from seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, or from our fabric range. Genuine leather only. In fabric the form carries a textured weave well, since there is no pattern on the sofa to compete with it.

Sizes

Three standard widths, listed above. All adjustable per project — on a linear form the width can be changed freely, which is why this model is often specified for a wall measured to the centimetre.
