JANE ARMCHAIR

Jane is a rounded leather chair on a metal swivel base — 80 cm wide, 80 cm deep, 80 cm high. No piping, no straps, no buttons: the curve of the shell and the leather are the whole design, and the base lets it turn. Shown in cream and brown.

The swivel

A chair that turns solves a problem a fixed one cannot: it faces a conversation, then a window, then a desk, without being lifted and re-placed. That makes it the right piece for a room with more than one focal point, and for a workspace, where a lounge chair usually has to be dragged round. The base is metal and sized for a leather chair of this weight, so it turns smoothly rather than in steps.

Jane or Hola

Both are 80 cm cubes on swivel bases, and they are the two chairs people compare. Jane is the plain leather one: a smooth shell, nothing applied, and it reads as quiet. Hola is the detailed one: piped seams and hand-stitched side straps, shown in fabric, and it reads as playful. Same footprint, same function, opposite character.

Leather or fabric

High-density foam over a kiln-dried beech frame, hand-assembled. Upholstered to order in any of seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, or in fabric. Genuine leather only; no faux leather is used in any Sitdesign product. On a plain curved shell the seam lines are the only drawing, so the stitch choice shows.

Proportions

A true 80 cm cube — compact for a lounge chair, which is part of why it works in a small room or beside a desk. Adjustable per project.

Where it belongs

A living room, a study, a hotel suite, a workspace that is not meant to look like one. A pair of them turn to face each other or face out, which is more useful than it sounds.
