In context
Isabella has no straight lines. The back curves, the arms curve into it, and the seat follows — one continuous rounded form with an 80 cm back and a 95 cm depth that keeps it compact for its softness. Shown in dark brown, grey, cream and taupe leather.
Why a curve is harder
A rounded back has to be built as a curved frame, not a flat one bent into shape, and the leather over it has to be cut in panels that meet on the curve without a single wrinkle. There is no tufting and no piping here to disguise a bad join, so the shaping is the whole test of the piece. It is cut and fitted by hand over a kiln-dried beech frame.
Finished on all sides
The back and sides are upholstered and finished like the front — the cream and taupe versions above are photographed from behind for exactly that reason. It can stand in the middle of a room, divide an open-plan space, or sit at an angle in a corner without showing a bare face.
Leather or fabric
Made to order from seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, or from our fabric range. Genuine leather only. A soft, full-grain hide suits the curves better than a stiff one, and we will say so when a shade is chosen that fights the form.
Sizes
Three standard widths, listed above, all 95 cm deep. Adjustable per project; the radius of the back is re-set with the width so the curve keeps its proportion instead of flattening out.
Where it belongs
A modern living room, a boutique hotel lounge, an executive waiting area. In a square room with hard architecture it does the softening on its own.
