HTC is the shallow one: 200 cm long and only 35 cm deep, on a gold-toned metal frame, with a top in marble or glass. At that depth it is a ledge rather than a surface — which is exactly what a narrow hallway needs.
35 cm deep
This is the number to look at. A 50 cm console in a 1.2 metre corridor leaves 70 cm to walk past, which two people cannot do. At 35 cm the same corridor stays usable. It carries keys, a lamp, a tray, a plant — and not much else, which is the honest trade-off and the reason it fits where nothing else does.
Marble or glass
Two different pieces from the same frame. Marble gives the console weight and a surface that will not scratch, with veining unique to the slab — and it is porous, so an unsealed stone marks. Glass disappears and keeps a narrow hall feeling open, but shows every fingerprint on a surface people put keys down on. In a busy entrance we would steer you to the stone.
The gold-toned frame
A 200 cm top on a 35 cm base needs the geometry to be right or it will feel precarious; the frame is drawn to carry the span with thin sections and still stand firm. Gold-toned metal against stone or glass is the warm part of the composition — it is the reason the piece does not read as cold.
Materials and sizes
200 × 35 × 65 cm as drawn; made to order, with length and height adjustable. Top material, stone selection and metal finish specified per project.
Where it belongs
A narrow entrance hall, a corridor, a hotel lobby, a lift lobby. At 65 cm it also works under a window or beneath wall-mounted art, where a taller console would crowd it.
