Equale is a square table with a slim dark top on a metal frame whose legs cross beneath it. The intersection is the design: the load comes down through a single crossing point rather than four separate corners, and the frame is visible from every side.
The crossed base
A cross under a square top does two things. It carries the surface on thin sections, because the crossing members brace each other — so the frame can be slender and still rigid. And it takes the supports away from the corners, which means nothing to catch a foot on and no leg in the way of a sofa edge, so the table can be pushed closer than a conventional one.
Thin top, thin frame
The whole piece is drawn to look light. A slim top profile and a slender metal framework, with no apron, no stretcher rail and no visible fixings. That gives the maker nowhere to hide: the top has to stay dead flat and the frame dead square, because there is nothing on the table to look at instead of its geometry.
A square, not a rectangle
Worth noting when choosing. A square table is reachable equally from every side, which suits a seating group arranged around it rather than along one wall. In front of a long sofa a rectangular table — Compasso or Lavor — serves the far seats better.
Materials and sizes
Made to order. Top material and finish, metal finish and dimensions are all specified per project.
Where it belongs
A modern living room, a lounge, an office. It suits a hard floor or a flat-weave rug, where the crossed frame can be seen and casts a shadow.
