CESAR SOFA

Cesar is built from straight lines. Square arms, a back that meets them at a right angle, and a seat that runs the full width without interruption. There is no curve anywhere to soften it, which is the point — the sofa behaves like a piece of the room's architecture rather than an object placed in it.

Comfort in a hard form

A shape this sharp is usually uncomfortable. Cesar gets round it with depth: 100 cm from front to back, so the seat carries you even though the back is upright. High-density foam keeps the edges square — a softer filling would round the corners within months and the whole idea would be lost.

Leather or fabric

Upholstered to order from seventy-six shades across twelve leather families, or from our fabric range. Stitching and scatter cushions are chosen at the time of order. On Cesar the seam lines are visible from a distance, so the stitch decision matters more here than on a rounded form.

Sizes

Three standard widths, listed above. Any of them can be made narrower or wider and the depth changed; the arm and back are re-proportioned with it so the geometry stays square rather than stretched.

Where it belongs

Cesar suits rooms with their own strong lines — an open-plan apartment, a design office, a showroom. It sits well against glass and concrete, and it holds a long wall without needing anything either side of it.
