Bravo is a low sofa drawn around a single idea: a wide, softly tailored backrest that runs the full length of the piece. It is architectural without being severe, and at 246 cm it still reads as light in a room. Like everything we make, it is built to order in our own workshop in Istanbul.

Form and proportion

The line is deliberately horizontal. The arms and the base are drawn tight and straight and held low to the floor, while the back and seat cushions are full and relaxed. The two read against each other, and that quiet tension is what keeps the sofa calm rather than heavy. The 98 cm depth is generous enough for an afternoon without pushing the piece away from the wall, and seen from the side the frame almost disappears: what you notice is the long, unbroken top line of the back.

How it is built

The frame is kiln-dried beech, cut, jointed and glued by hand before anything is upholstered. Kiln drying matters more than it sounds. It is what stops a frame from moving, creaking or splitting years later in a heated apartment. The cushions are high-density multilayer foam, specified to recover their shape rather than flatten into a hollow where people sit most.

A rounded, softly tailored form like this one is harder to upholster than a boxy one. Every cover has to be cut, sewn and eased onto the frame so that the shape stays crisp along the arms and soft where you actually sit, and the seams have to run true along a line 246 cm long with nothing to hide behind. That work is done by hand, by the same upholsterers who have been doing it in our workshop for years.

Materials and finishes

Bravo can be upholstered in any leather in our collection, seventy-six shades across twelve families, from smooth full-grain aniline to brushed nubuck, or in fabric, including a fabric you supply yourself. Stitching, piping, cushion firmness and feet are all specified with the order. The same piece in a pale fabric and in a dark aniline leather are, in effect, two different sofas, which is why we would rather send you samples than let you decide from a screen.

Sizes

Bravo is made in three widths: the three-seater at W 246 x D 98 x H 75 cm, the two-seater at W 170 x D 98 x H 75 cm and the armchair at W 87 x D 91 x H 66 cm. Nothing is held in stock, so these dimensions are a starting point rather than a constraint. Widths, depths and seat heights can be redrawn for a particular room, a particular ceiling height or a particular doorway, and we will say so honestly when a change would hurt the proportions.

Where it belongs

Bravo is specified for private residences and for contract work alike, in hotel lounges, executive offices, showrooms and project interiors, where a sofa has to hold its proportions in a large room and survive daily use without losing its shape. Lead times, upholstery samples and a drawing for your own floor plan are available on request.
