In context
Alexandra carries a strap detail across each armrest, fixed with buttons at the ends — the one piece of visible hardware in an otherwise plain sofa, and the thing that gives the model its character. 240 cm wide, 98 cm deep, with deep seating and a supportive back. Shown in dark brown, brown and cognac.
The strap and buttons
The strap is cut, stitched and fitted by hand, then anchored with buttons that have to sit level on both arms or the asymmetry is immediately visible. It is a saddlery detail rather than a furniture one, which is why it reads as made rather than manufactured — and why it shows best in leather, where the strap and the arm catch light differently.
Deep seat, upright back
The seat is deep and the back is supportive rather than soft, so the sofa holds you in a comfortable upright posture instead of collapsing around you. High-resilience foam in the seat and back cushions, which is what keeps the shape after a few years of use rather than a few months.
Construction
Kiln-dried beech frame, cut and jointed before anything is upholstered — kiln drying is what stops a frame moving or creaking later in a heated apartment. Upholstered to order in soft-touch fabric, in a fabric you supply yourself, or in any of seventy-six leather shades across twelve families.
Sizes
Three widths, listed above, all 98 cm deep and 80 cm high. The single seat is 112 cm — wide for a chair, which suits the strap detail across a broader arm. All adjustable per project.
Where it belongs
A warm living room, a boutique hotel, a study. It suits rooms with wood, wool and natural materials; against glass and steel the strap detail looks out of place.
