CAMILA · Bilgin Yachts

CAMILA is a 50-metre superyacht built by Bilgin Yachts — the second hull in the Bilgin 163 series, delivered in 2025. Naval architecture and exterior are by Unique Yacht Design; the interior was designed by the Italian studio Hot Lab. Sitdesign produced the loose furniture for that interior and supported the design team on the technical side — the construction detail behind each piece, and how it had to be drawn to work in a space that moves.

The main saloon is arranged around two long curved sofas set facing each other down the length of the room, with swivel armchairs between them and the formal dining table beyond. Curves run through the whole interior — the ceiling coves, the bar front, the tables — so no upholstered piece could be taken from a standard frame. Each one was drawn to its own radius and built to it.

The formal dining room sits one step away from the saloon, under a single long pendant, with upholstered chairs around a stone-topped table and the spiral stair glazed behind it.

The upper saloon is the lighter room of the two: a marble bar with upholstered stools, a games table, and seating that follows the window line on both sides. Outside, the sun deck carries one long shaded seating group, built for sun and salt air rather than for a living room.

Building for a shipyard

Furniture for a yacht is not the same work as furniture for a house. A piece has to hold its line in a space that moves, live with humidity and sunlight that would age a domestic interior in a single season, and arrive within the weight the yard has allowed for it. Fixings, frames and foam are specified for that, not for a living room floor.

Every piece on CAMILA was built to the shipyard's specification and to Hot Lab's drawings, in our own Istanbul workshop — the same workshop, the same hands, that have been making furniture here since 1983.
