Al Reem is an 80-metre superyacht built by Bilgin Yachts — the third and final hull in the Bilgin 263 series, delivered in 2025. Naval architecture and exterior are by Unique Yacht Design; the interior was designed by the British studio H2 Yacht Design. Sitdesign produced the loose furniture for that interior and supported the design team on the technical side — the construction detail behind each piece, and how it had to be drawn to work in a space that moves.

She carries twelve guests across six cabins and four decks, which means the furniture had to hold one language from the main saloon down to the beach club and back up to the sun deck. The main saloon runs the full beam, sofas and swivel chairs arranged in two groups so the room can be used for a crowd or for four people without anything being moved. The dining table sits forward of it under a single pendant.

The owner's deck is a yacht within the yacht: its own lounge, its own bar with upholstered stools, a dining table aft under shade, and a suite that opens onto the foredeck. Each of these had its own seat height, its own depth, its own fabric — drawn for the room it stands in rather than taken from a catalogue.

Below, the beach club opens to the sea around a spa pool, with low seating that has to live in salt and sunlight. The cinema and the open-air cinema on the sun deck are the two ends of the same idea: one in darkness and acoustic fabric, one in beanbags under the night sky.

Building for a shipyard

Furniture for a yacht is not the same work as furniture for a house. A piece has to hold its line in a space that moves, live with humidity and sunlight that would age a domestic interior in a single season, and arrive within the weight the yard has allowed for it. Fixings, frames and foam are specified for that, not for a living room floor.

Every piece on Al Reem was built to the shipyard's specification and to H2 Yacht Design's drawings, in our own Istanbul workshop — the same workshop, the same hands, that have been making furniture here since 1983.

Al Reem is the second Bilgin we have worked on, alongside CAMILA.
