Sitdesign
All Sitdesign Products
The whole catalogue in one place. It divides into two lines: Sitdesign, the upholstery — sofas, corner sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, barstools, benches, beds — and Sitwood, the woodwork — dining tables, sideboards, consoles, cabinets, TV units and bookshelves.
Everything here is made to order
Nothing in this catalogue is held in stock in a fixed size. Width, depth, height, material and the internal layout are set with the order, which means the useful question is not "does this fit?" but "what should it be?" Send a plan of the room with the door, the window and whatever the furniture has to face, plus the clear dimensions — and tell us what the room is for. We will say which piece is the honest answer, including when a narrower or lower one is better than the one you first liked.
The one number that matters, by category
For a sofa, back height and depth: a low back leaves the sightlines open, a deep seat is for lying on rather than sitting up in. For a dining chair, width — it decides how many people sit at the table. For a console, height: 65 to 73 cm stands behind a sofa, 87 to 103 cm is hall height. For a sideboard, height again: below about 80 cm it reads as a line under art, above it the top becomes a serving surface. For a barstool, seat height against the counter — leave 25 to 30 cm. For a bed, headboard height, which decides whether it supports your head or only your back. For a cabinet, whether the top should be usable at all.
Materials
Kiln-dried beech frames and high-resilience foam in the upholstery; walnut, oak and anigre in the woodwork; marble, glass and metal where they earn their place. Seventy-six leather shades across twelve families, genuine leather only — no faux leather in any Sitdesign product — and your own fabric (COM) accepted, so pieces specified together can be cut from the same batch of hide.
Where it is made
Sitdesign has made furniture in its own workshop since 1983; today that workshop is in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul. Every piece is assembled, sanded, upholstered and finished by the same team, and nothing leaves the workshop before it has been checked by hand. Wood pieces are typically ready in six to eight weeks.
