Üsküdar Apartment

A family apartment in Üsküdar, on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus. Sitdesign furnished the living floor and both children's rooms, designed in 3D and made in our own Istanbul workshop.

The main room runs living and dining together, so the two halves had to answer each other. A full-height mirrored panel sits behind the dining table and doubles the depth of the room; opposite it a black steel and glass library wall carries the television between open shelves, keeping the storage visually light against a low grey sofa. The entrance is handled as its own moment — a slim console under a tall framed mirror, with a deep green upholstered stool tucked beneath.

The children's rooms move the palette to soft pink and off-white. One is built around an illustrated wall and a low bed with a padded surround; the other carries a fitted desk, floating shelf and wardrobe run in the same pale finish, so the storage disappears into the wall rather than standing in the room.
