Lusail House, Qatar

A private house in Lusail, Qatar — Sitdesign's furniture programme for its reception floor, designed in 3D in Istanbul, made in our own workshop and shipped to Doha for installation.

The rooms are long and tall, and the scheme uses that rather than filling it. In the main majlis a run of fluted piers carries down one side of the room, with two facing lines of low cream sofas and a cluster of mirrored and metal-topped tables between them; a single wide chandelier holds the centre. The second salon repeats the arrangement in front of a book-matched marble wall, this time with curved seating and round upholstered poufs.

A linear fireplace beneath a wide screen forms the third wall, flanked by mirrored and lit display bays. The entrance hall is kept deliberately empty — a polished marble floor with a brass star inlay, one tall framed artwork, a slim console — so the house opens on space rather than on furniture.
